What is Dristi Bondhu?

Dristi Bondhu is an online based medical consultation service of Deep Eye Care Foundation, Rangpur, Bangladesh where eye patients can consult with doctors on video calls using Dristi Bondhu app and get digital prescription. The service is available from Saturday – Wednesday: 9.30am – 4.30pm, Thursday: 9.30am – 1.00pm, Friday- Close/Off day from anywhere.

How does it work?

Patients can register on our app and are able to take consultation from our base hospital doctors. Consultation is available for the app user and their family members. It works in several steps: Select your eye problems from given options – Test your vision – Take photos of your eyes – Choose appointment time – Make payment online – Doctor makes a video call to do the consultation – Doctor uploads prescription and you download it.

Who provides consultation on Dristi Bondhu app?

The doctors of Deep Eye Care Foundation provide consultation services on the Drishti Bandhu app. They all are permanent employee of Deep Eye Care Foundation. All are licensed by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) and are experienced in eye care.

How can a doctor provide health care through video advice?

An experienced doctor can diagnose the disease by listening to the common eye problems of the patient during the video consultation and by looking at the eye photos and videos. They usually do this by looking at your medical history, current symptoms and talking to you. If physical contact is required, the doctor may ask patients to know or see certain things according to their instructions. For example, a doctor may ask a patient to put pressure on a part of the body for pain, or if a patient suspects a fever, he may be asked to measure the fever with a thermometer during the consultation. If the doctor needs to check your condition further, he or she will advise you to go for it. When you receive the report, you can attach it to the app and take the doctor’s advice again. You can also attach any previous prescription or report to the app.

When are the doctors available in Dristi Bondhu App?

Our video consulting service is provided Saturday – Wednesday: 9.30am – 4.30pm, Thursday: 9.30am – 1.00pm, Friday- Close/Off day, which means you can request video consultation at this time. However, if your scheduled time slot is not available, you need to request for the next time. If for some reason a doctor is unable to see you within 30 minutes of your appointment, another appointment will be made for you at a later time.

How much do I need to pay for the video consultation?

The cost for each consultation is only 100 BDT. A digital prescription written by a doctor will be sent to your app after each consultation.

How do I make payment?

Consultation fees can be paid through various mobile banking systems or online payments. Currently you can pay online using bKash.

If I decide to cancel my consultation after making payment, how do I get a refund?

If you decide, not to get the consultation before the doctor dial you in, we will refund you the money by Bkash account. The refund may take up to 14 working days.

How do I get a prescription for my consultation?

As soon as the consultation is finished, the doctor will write and upload the prescription on the app. Once the doctor uploads the prescription, you will be able to download it immediately. You will also be able to download the prescription from your prescription menu.

Do I need to prepare anything before the video consultation?

If possible get the following ready: – Torch light / mobile phone light – Eye Drop/Medicine (If used) – Prescription/ Spectacle Prescription (If used) – Spectacle (if used) – Recent medical reports – Any other documents/materials that may make the consultation easy.

If the doctor finds out that my problem is not treatable over video call, what would happen?

The doctor will let you know immediately if your problem cannot be treated over video call. The doctor will guide you to the right direction if it’s possible. If necessary, Doctor will refer you to the nearest hospital. In this case, you will not get any refund for the payment you have made.

Is my data secured?

Yes, we store all your information securely in our servers.

Can I get consultation if I am living outside Bangladesh?

Yes, you can get consultation from anywhere in the world using our app or web service.
